The setup application for the Independent DeltaV Domain Controller

The Independent DeltaV Domain Controller (IDDC) setup application configures the computer as a domain controller for the DeltaV network (ACN). The application performs the following configuration tasks:

• Enables the Domain Controller role.
• Creates the first domain controller in the domain.
• Creates additional domain controllers.
• Sets the IP address for the DeltaV networks (including the subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server entries).
• Configures Network Time Protocol (NTP) services on the computer to work with the DeltaV master time server.
• Hardens the computer based on the Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks and other DeltaV hardening features (such as disabling Windows services and features that are not required for DeltaV systems).

To create the domain controller, certain information is required. The setup application prompts you for the following information:

• A fully qualified domain name. The format is DeltaV system name.System.company name.local (Where DeltaV system name, System, and company name are names you provide).

• The Directory Services Restore Mode (DSRM) password. This password does not exist until you enter it during setup.
• Network redundancy. This is when the DeltaV ACN has redundant (Primary and Secondary) networks.
• Domain administrator credentials. This user must exist as a local administrator prior to starting the setup application

You can find the Independent DeltaV Domain Controller setup application in the DeltaV Installation Autorun menu (Set Up Independent DeltaV Domain Controller). You can also browse to the IDDC folder on the DeltaV installation media.
