DeltaV Basic Operator role and applicable DeltaV keys

DeltaV restricts the ability to assign certain keys to users with the Basic Operator role. DeltaV uses locks to contain system functions, parameters, field values, and so on. A user or user group must be granted a key to the lock to which the function or parameter is assigned.

The Basic Operator role is restricted from running many applications, most operating system features, and cannot access folders outside of the running application's folders (for example, graphics folders for operations). This role is designed to be assigned to operators only due to its restrictive nature.

Tip

For a custom operator role, you can assign specific functions or parameters to a User Lock in DeltaV User Manager and give that User Lock's key to a user with the Basic Operator role.

DeltaV prohibits the following system-created locks/keys from being assigned to a user with the Basic Operator role.
Note

DeltaV users with the Basic Operator role that have been migrated from versions prior to implementing this restriction maintain the keys they migrated with. This preserves DeltaV functionality for the operator after the migration. However, you will not be able to add any additional keys on the restricted list to the migrated Basic Operator users.
