clear command

The clear command has several forms:

• clear counters (slot/port> | all) — Clears statistics counters
• clear eventlog — Clear the event log
• clear traplog — Clear the Trap Log

These commands remove the specified information from the switch memory. Clearing this information has no impact on the performance of the switch and is typically used to clear information to aid in troubleshooting the switch or network.

Clear the statistics after the initial installation is complete to remove any errors accumulated during setup to start with cleared counters.

After the initial clearing we suggest that you not clear information unless instructed by Emerson personnel as you may delete historical information that is needed to perform troubleshooting activities.
