The main problems that cause this to occur are:
The installation program only adds the user who installed the DeltaV software to the DeltaV security group. To add the account under which you are trying to run DeltaV software to the security group, use the User Manager.
It is strongly recommended that this password be set to never expire. if the password expires and you then stop the DeltaV services or reboot a node, the services do not start and the DeltaV system does not function as expected. If the password can expire you must change the password before expiration. Use either the DeltaV Security Administration application () or the ServPwd utility (found in the \DeltaV\Bin directory) to prevent system disruption.
The file permissions are inherited from the parent directory. If you install into a parent directory that has restricted access, the DeltaV system will not be able to access the files it needs to run. Change the file permissions so that the DeltaV group is allowed access to the installation directories and all of its subdirectories.
In the Diagnostics program, click .
To verify that the DeltaV program was started, click , and then double-click the Services icon.
