The firewall IPD is configured and managed from a qualified PC called a Management station. The Management station does not run the DeltaV software and may already be in use on the DeltaV Control Network for managing Ethernet switches or for other diagnostic purposes such as an SNMP Management station. Refer to the DeltaV ™ M-series Hardware Installation and Reference manual for information on the Management station including information on how to connect the Management station to the DeltaV Control Network.
To inspect the firewall IPD logs or enhance rules, you must use HiView version 3.0 or later. HiView enables you to view the Java-based Web interface for Smart Switches and certain firewalls. HiView includes a built-in Java runtime environment that has been tested with these products. Refer to KBA NK-1600-0290 for information about using HiView.
