The Applications menu allows firewall administrators to specify which applications appear in the corresponding inbound and outbound connection drop-down lists. No initial configuration settings are required. Applications are configured during the protection phase of firewall configuration when the communication rules are created to ensure only authorized communications are allowed through the firewall.
