Smart Firewall module class

You want all of your Emerson Smart Firewalls to have consistent behavior. To assist that goal, DeltaV software includes a control module class from which firewall modules are created: FW_STDCFG_$W.

The firewall module class holds common firewall setup information and hardware alarm behavior configuration for Smart Firewalls on the DeltaV 2.5 network. The 2.5 network is a simplex network, so a secondary firewall module is not needed.

You can modify parameter settings of the class to tailor it to your needs, but modifications made in the module class are not automatically propagated to the firewall. Parameter settings must be modified in BOTH the module class and to the firewall directly.
Important

Modifications to the class should be done prior to adding the firewall.

It is recommended that you do not add any other parameters or logic in this module class. Any additions to the class may not be preserved when upgrading to future versions of DeltaV software.

The control module class is located in the configuration library at: DeltaV _System/Library/Advanced Definitions/Control Module Classes/Firewalls. If the module class is deleted or renamed, you cannot add firewalls.
