The default batch size defined in the recipe is used to create the batch. Scaling a batch is the method used to produce a quantity other than the default size. Instead of running a normal batch, the operator specifies a percentage of the recipe to be produced.
Several dialogs in Campaign Manager allow the user to modify a batch size by scaling the value or the percent up or down. If you change the Value field, the Scale field will reflect the change, and vice-versa. (You must first click outside the changed field to see the effect on the other field.)
When scaling, you can not exceed the minimum or maximum limits of any one of the scalable parameters in the recipe. If the batch scale value causes a parameter to become greater or less than the max and min limits of that parameter, it is highlighted in red. The user must manually change that parameter (thereby creating a custom formula) or change the batch scale so the parameter remains within its limits.
