The Batch Executive tab provides access to starting and stopping the Batch Executive as well as information about the Batch Executive selected. Additional functions are available by clicking the Advanced button.
Batch Executive Name - Displays the list of Batch Executive servers available. Select the machine to start, stop or configure from the list.
Start - Starts the Batch Executive by the method selected in DeltaV Explorer on the Batch Executive Properties dialog. If the method selected is Query, the following choices appear:
Warm - to return the Batch Executive to its last known state. Control recipes, manually controlled phases, and arbitration functions are returned to the state that existed prior to the termination of the application. The warm restart method is the preferred restart method.
Cold - to start the Batch Executive with an empty batch list and with no resources allocated to the operator. This method should only be used to clear the batch list in the unusual event where all previous batches have already been cleared out of the plant manually.
Cancel - to terminate the start of the Batch Executive.
Stop - Stops the Batch Executive.
WARNING!Stopping the Batch Executive impacts all recipes that have been scheduled or are currently executing. All recipes that are currently running will also stop. Stopping a recipe causes the system to write to the Watchdog parameter. Any logic you have in your phases that relies on the Watchdog parameter will be affected. Therefore, it is important that you verify that it is safe to stop the Batch Executive first.
Advanced - Opens the Advanced functions dialog. From this dialog you can administer batches and edit configuration settings.
Started At - Displays the date and time the Batch Executive was started.
When a switchover occurs (for Redundant Batch systems only), the date and time resets to when the Batch Executive started on the newly active node.
Batch Count - Displays the number of batches currently in the batch list.
Service Status - Displays the status of the Batch Executive service; for example, Running, stopping, stopped, Lost, or Unknown
Connected Clients - Displays the current number of nodes connected to the Batch Executive.
Prompts Count - Displays current active, unacknowledged prompts count.
Total Phase Count - Displays the count of total phases assigned and downloaded to the Batch Executive.
Bad Phase Count - Displays the count of bad phases (after clicking the Verify Phases button). A phase can be bad because it is not downloaded to the controller, due to a network problem, or, if running as a simulation, the Recipe Simulator is not running.
Verify Phases - Runs through each phase assigned to this Batch Executive, counts the number of phases and verifies their statuses.
Bad Phase Information - Displays the phases with a status of Bad after running the Verify Phases process.
Displays information about the actions the Batch Executive is taking (for example, Loading area model file, processing a download). Displays any errors regarding connections, communication, or starting and stopping of the Batch Executive as well as the status of the Batch Executive (available, for example).
