Start the Batch Executive service when the workstation starts

You can start the Batch Executive automatically when the workstation boots (as opposed to manually using the Batch Application Manager) by following these steps:

  1. Go to Start → Settings → Control Panel → Services.
  2. Select the DeltaV Batch Executive service.
  3. Click the Startup button.
  4. Select Automatic as the Startup Type.
  5. Click OK.
    Note

    To start the Batch Executive, the user must have access to the Start menu on the Windows desktop. The DeltaV security system prevents users who do not have either Windows Administrator privilege or the DeltaV "Can Configure" key from accessing the Windows Desktop. Therefore, a user must have one of these privileges as well as the key that is assigned to the Batch_Control_Start and Batch_Control_Stop function locks in order to start and stop the Batch Executive.

    CAUTION!

    Do not change any other fields on this dialog. Any changes to the Log On As fields will cause you to be unable to re-logon to this workstation and the Batch Executive will fail to start.
