Configure Auto Archive properties for the Batch Historian database

Note

If enabling AutoArchive when a Batch Historian database already exists, verify that you have enough space on the destination drive to archive the entire existing database.

  1. Select MaintenanceAutoArchive.
  2. Select the Properties tab.
  3. Check Enable archiving.
  4. Choose the frequency (in hours) with which to check the database for archiving.
  5. Enter an archive name and a target maximum size.
    Note

The archive size is an approximate target, not a hard limit. When the archive process runs, it checks at the start of the process to verify that the archive size configured has not been exceeded. If the configured size has not been exceeded, the archive process continues. If the configured size has been exceeded, the archive will not proceed.

  6. Select the archive directory on the Batch Historian machine.
    Note

You can find the directory by clicking the Browse... button.

  7. Click OK or select the Data or the Status tab.
    Note

For MSSQLServer and SQLServerAgent services to access remote machines to move the archives, the service accounts must be modified with the Service Control Manager. The destination (where the archive will be written) must be a shared device and the MSSQL services logon account must have Change permission to the destination folder.
