Using the DeltaV Device Commissioner application

You can use the DeltaV Device Commissioner application to commission devices connected to CHARMs in the DeltaV system. Commissioning consists of the following four tasks, which we refer to as phases in this document:

1. Sensing connected devices
2. Binding sensed devices to CHARMs
3. Configuring devices
4. Testing the configuration and devices

DeltaV Device Commissioner indicates the progress of commissioning in the Commissioning State column of the Punch List.

You can launch DeltaV Device Commissioner in any of the following ways:

• From the Windows Start menu
• From the DeltaV Explorer context menu
• From the I/O Studio ribbon menu
