Use this dialog to specify the report definition file to be used to automatically generate a scheduled report. You must use DeltaV Reporter to create the report definition as a Microsoft Excel file in .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, or .xlsb format. For more information about scheduled reports, refer to Generating Scheduled Reports in Books Online.
Tip When you set up a scheduled report in DeltaV Reporter, it also appears as a scheduled task in Microsoft Windows. You can use the Windows Task Scheduler application to modify some settings not managed by DeltaV Reporter, such as stopping the task if it runs for longer than a specified amount of time.
The Task tab of the Scheduled Report Properties dialog contains the following areas:
Scheduled Report Definition Enter the file name, including its path, of the Excel file containing the DeltaV functions defining the scheduled report or click Browse to open the Browse for DeltaV Reporter Definition dialog, where you can select a file.
Scheduled Report Task Name Enter a descriptive name for the scheduled report, such as "Morning Shift Alarms," for example. This name appears in the DeltaV Scheduled Reports window.
Output as PDF Enable this option to generate the scheduled report as a Portable Document Format (PDF) file that can be viewed in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
If you do not enable the Output as PDF option, the scheduled report is generated in .xls or .xlsx format, depending on the format of the report definition file used. A scheduled report based on a report definition file saved in .xls format is always generated in .xls format. A scheduled report based on a report definition file saved in .xlsx, .xlsm, or .xlsb format is generated in .xlsx format.
User Validation Enter the computer name\user name with read access to the Event Chronicle SQL database (EJournal) on the Event Chronicle server. User validation requires password authentication. For important system configuration settings required to automatically generate scheduled reports, refer to DeltaV Reporter in Books Online.
Important If the Event Chronicle is in a different DeltaV system than the client PC (or the client PC is not in a DeltaV system at all), you must have been granted the DeltaV security key associated with the “HISTORICAL_REMOTE_ACCCESS” function in DeltaV on the Event Chronicle server.
