You can use the Write Historical Data command to write a range of data in an Excel worksheet to a Continuous Historian database. For an example of how to use this command, refer to Writing Historical Data to a Continuous Historian Database in Books Online.
The Write Historical Data dialog includes the following fields and buttons:
Connection Displays the name of the workstation node to which you are writing data. To select a node, click the browse (...) button.
Data Range Displays the range of cells you selected on the Excel
worksheet. Click
to select the range of cells in the Excel worksheet.
Worksheet Time Specifies the time format and an offset.
Mode Converts the time entered on the spreadsheet to an alternate time format.
Offset If GMT is selected as the mode, you can select a time offset in +/-hh:mm.
After you select a range of cells from the Excel worksheet, the values appear in the data list under the headings: Tag, Timestamp (GMT), Value, Parameter Status, and History Data Is Valid (unless there is an error in the data).
Status If the data is valid, displays the range of cells from the Excel worksheet and the number of samples. If there is an error, click Show Errors for more information.
Write Data Writes the data in the data list to the Continuous Historian database.
Show Errors Displays further details about any errors in the data. If there are errors, none of the data can be written to the Continuous Historian database.
