Although you can perform most switch management tasks from the Network Device Command Center (NDCC), you may need a serial interface cable to connect the switch to a terminal for some tasks such as changing user account passwords. You can purchase a serial interface cable from Emerson Automation Solutions or you can build a cable using the pinouts in the following figure.
