The Unassigned I/O References tab in I/O Studio is similar to the Unassigned I/O References folder in DeltaV Explorer. It lists all of the unassigned I/O references in the DeltaV system. Unassigned I/O references are device tags referenced in a control strategy that have not been associated with an I/O connection path. You can convert an unassigned I/O reference to an unallocated device either by right-clicking the reference and selecting Create and Configure as a Device.
