Bulk power supplies power
DeltaV System Power Supplies (24 VDC) and field instruments through connectors
on the Power / Controller Carrier. DeltaV Bulk Power Supplies are available
from Emerson.
Note
The use of an
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is not a DeltaV system requirement. Follow
your plant's best practices and carefully assess the quality of your plant's
power to decide whether or not to use a UPS.
Install the bulk power supply on a DIN rail.
Connect the bulk power supply to the plant's power source.
Connect the bulk power supply's 24 VDC output to the DC input
terminals on the Power / Controller Carrier as shown in the following image.
This provides power to the system power supplies.
Note
The power inputs
on the right side of the following image are needed only when two system power
supplies are used.
