Install OPC Mirror

OPC Mirror requires one of the following operating systems:
  • Windows 10
  • Windows Server 2016

You can install OPC Mirror only on a ProfessionalPlus or Application Station DeltaV workstation, or on a non-DeltaV workstation with the OPC Remote application.

Administrator privileges are required for installation.

Important

During installation, you can specify the directory where OPC Mirror is installed. The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\FRS\OPC Mirror. Because OPC Mirror runs as a service in Windows, it must be started by a user whose security permissions are set to Full Control for this directory.

Note

If you do not have a previous version of OPC Mirror, start at skip steps 2 and 3.

Install OPC Mirror as follows:

  1. Log in as an administrator (local administrator if in a workgroup, domain administrator if in a domain. User accounts and user groups will be created and you must have rights to do this in your environment.).
  2. Stop OPC Mirror from Mirror Tray.
  3. Export the OPC Mirror configuration to a directory other than the OPC Mirror directory (for backup purposes).
  4. Install the new version of the OPC Mirror by selecting Install OPC Mirror from the splash screen or by browsing to the OPCMirror folder and running setup.exe.
Do not use the DeltaVAdmin account as the account to start the Mirror service. The DeltaVAdmin account is a special account for DeltaV services only.
  5. Start OPC Mirror from Mirror Tray.

The installation program will import the configuration if it detects an existing installation of OPC Mirror.

The following files are copied to the OPC Mirror system directory:
  • MirorCfg.exe - Configures the data flow
  • MirrorClient.exe - Provides data flow among OPC servers
  • MirrorDiagnostics - Diagnoses the running status of the data
  • MirrorTray.exe - Controls different OPC Mirror applications
  • MirrorServiceInstall.exe - Installs OPC Mirror Client as a service
  • Mirror.hlp - Online help file
  • Mirror.cnt - Online help file
  • FrsOpcMr.mdb - The configuration database
  • dbtmpl.mdb - The template of the configuration database
