Compare/Retrieve

This Compare/Retrieve function compares the active project and the SD card backup to the last backup done by the active project. From this comparison you can determine the items to retrieve from the SD card into the active project. Items are preselected for retrieval if they exist only in the SD card backup or are newer in the SD card than the last backup but not newer in the active project than last backup.

Note

Some files, such as DeltaV Operator files, get a new date/timestamp any time they are opened (regardless of being changed and saved).

Similar to a spreadsheet, you can filter information based on the data in any column with a filter drop down list. You can sort the data by clicking the column heading.

Note

You can only perform the Retrieve function when you have the Basic system key attached. Compare requires a Professional system key.

The Compare/Retrieve button exists on the Configuration Management page.

Timestamp Columns
Select to display the timestamps for the item (the active project timestamp, the SD card timestamp, and the backup timestamp).
Retrieve Selected button
Retrieves the items selected. Before retrieval starts, you are prompted that the conflicting items will be overridden and that a backup of the active project will occur once the retrieval is complete. You can elect to backup the SD card to another location as a part of this process.
A log file is created and a link provided when the process completes.

Auto-retrieving a CSLS into a different project results in the commissioned state of the CSLS as per the state in the backup.

Retrieve considerations

Batch
  • Retrieving batch objects (such as recipes, areas, process cells) into a new project results in those objects being unassigned. Assign them to the local DeltaV HMI node in the new project and download the local DeltaV HMI.
Localization
  • To perform a successful retrieve, the language of the engineering workstation retrieving the backup must match the language of the PK standalone project backup it is retrieving.
