PowerUp Directory Test

PowerUp Directory Test performs a check of the files in the POWERUP directory on the DeltaV ProfessionalPLUS workstation. The POWERUP directory contains the download scripts used in the run-time system. The contents of the POWERUP directory support the cold restart function and downloads to standby controllers.

In order to maintain redundancy, the standby controller requires that the POWERUP directory contain all of the modules, IO cards and other scripts running in the active controller. PowerUp Directory Test reviews these items on the active controller and compares them to the items saved in the ProfessionalPLUS POWERUP directory. It then shows a comparison of all the discovered items, displaying a red X wherever the controller and POWERUP directory differ. The following items are compared:

• Control Modules (CM files)
• IO Card Definitions (CRD files)
• Remote IO Card Definitions (RCRD files)
• Logic Solver Devices (LSD files)
• SIS Modules (CM files)
• File Check List (FCL file)
• Start and End Device (STE files)
• CHARMs (RCRM files)
• CIOC (RNODE files)
• Wireless Devices (WLDEV files)

The tool does not test all items in the POWERUP directory. The following items are not validated:

• Composite Function Blocks (CFB files)
• DeviceNet Devices (DDV files)
• Profibus Devices (PDV files)
• Phase and Alias Tables (UAT and UPT files)
• Setup data (SCR files)
