If you are running DeltaV Predict on a workstation where a historical
data server is not installed, you can connect to another workstation with a
historical data server running to access MPC block parameters.
Click
File → Select Continuous
Historian Node.
The
Set Default Data Servers dialog appears.
In the
Historical Data Server field:
Select a source for
historical data from the drop-down list.
To connect to the
machine where you are running DeltaV Predict, select
localhost.
If the node where the
historian is running does not appear on the drop-down list—for example, in a
DeltaV Zones environment or when the historian is installed on a non-DeltaV
workstation—you can enter the node name in the
Historical Data Server field explicitly.
Enable the
Save as my Application Startup Data Server
option if you want to connect to this node each time DeltaV Predict starts.
Tip
To improve performance when collecting historical data with the
Advanced Continuous Historian or with a PI Server enterprise historian, enable
the
Connect to Advance Continuous Historian
Server option.
Click
OK to save your selections and close the
dialog.
