Verify the accuracy of a model and generate control

An expert user can verify the accuracy of a model and compare the process output values with the model predicted values.

Note

An expert user can also create a simulation of the model.

  1. Click Options → Expert to identify yourself as an expert user.
  2. Select the model that you wish to verify.
  3. Click the Verify button and select:
    • Verify Using Original Data: to verify the model against the original data used to create the model.
    • Verify Against Selected Data: to verify the model against the predicted output for the selected data (the data between the green bars).
    • Percent: to plot the actual and predicted values in percent.
    • Eng. Units: to plot the actual and predicted values in Engineering Units.

    If you are satisfied that the model accurately reflects the process dynamics, you can generate control and update the MPC configuration for the new model.

  4. Select the verified model in the model list.
  5. Click the Generate button.
  6. Use the context sensitive help for help on the fields in the Controller Generation dialog.
