Connect an SZ Controller's Modbus TCP port to a third party safety system

The Modbus TCP port on the SZ Controller Carrier is used to connect to third party safety systems in which the SZ Controller is a slave device.



It is assumed that the Ethernet cable and switches for the Modbus TCP network are installed.

  1. Connect the Modbus TCP port on the SZ Controller Carrier to a switch on the Modbus TCP network.
  2. Set the Modbus TCP connection's IP address through the Modbus Port Properties page in the DeltaV Explorer.
