Configure the service properties from the Configuration tab of the Gateway Administration utility. In the Configuration tab you set properties for the service selected in the left pane. Set the property values as required.
If you change service properties after your DeltaV system is running, you may need to restart the services. The service property tables indicate which property changes require that a service be restarted.
For this reason, when you click the Apply button in the utility a message appears stating that a selected services needs to be restarted for configuration changes to take effect. The message contains the following buttons:
Yes — additional messages appear so that you can update each affected service as desired.
No — do not apply the property changes. Service property changes remain pending, the message closes, and the Gateway Administration utility remains open.
If you click the Close button on the Gateway Administration utility at this point, all property changes you have made are lost and the utility closes.
Changing a service's Protection property requires recompiling client applications that use the service.
All web services have the same properties available for configuration. All properties have a default value. Each property also has an initial value after installation. The initial values may differ from the default values and the same property may have different initial values for each service. If you clear a property value and apply it, the property assumes the default value.
