Remove a firewall

Use this procedure when removing a firewall from your network.

The firewall is manually added to Network Device Command Center (NDCC) and at that point creates a DeltaV module. Therefore, to remove the firewall from NDCC, you must use DeltaV Explorer to remove the module and download the DeltaV workstation.

  1. Delete the firewall module assignment.
    1. In DeltaV Explorer, navigate to the Assigned Modules folder on the workstation node to which the module is assigned.
    2. Select the firewall module, right click and select Delete Assignment from the context menu.
    3. Click Yes to acknowledge the prompt.
    4. Make sure the firewall module is still selected and right click.
    5. Select Download → Delete from workstation from the context menu.
    This removes the firewall icon but leaves the Assigned Modules folder in DeltaV Explorer with a download indicator.
  2. To remove the download indicator on the Assigned Modules folder in DeltaV Explorer, you must download the workstation.
    1. In DeltaV Explorer, select the workstation node and right click.
    2. Select Download → Workstation Type from the context menu (where Workstation Type is the actual DeltaV workstation being downloaded, for example, the Application Station.
    3. Click Yes to confirm the download.
    4. Click Close when the download is complete.
    The download indicator disappears.
