Schedule generating and sending the DeltaV System Registration file

Use this procedure to configure a schedule to automatically generate and send the DeltaV System Registration file. You can choose between sending the file automatically using System Health Monitoring (SHM) or through your email server.

  1. Log into the ProfessionalPLUS computer as an administrator (when in a domain, log in as a domain administrator).
  2. Open Start → DeltaV → DeltaV Installation → DeltaV System Registration.
  3. Proceed through the application until you reach the System Registration Automatic Run Settings page.
  4. Set the information as needed for the frequency you want to collect the data and the location of the unsent files.
    The file that is generated is SysRegData.epm
  5. Complete the information needed on the page based on the method you are sending the file.

    • Send the registration file using System Health Monitoring (SHM).

      Make sure the following items in the registration utility are left blank or unchecked:
      • (BLANK) Proxy and Port Number
      • (BLANK) Email Server
      • (BLANK) Sender’s Email
      • (UNCHECK) SMTP Authentication Required

      The SHM appliance takes the SysRegData.epm from the specified directory and emails it using SHM.

    • Send the registration file using an email server (without SHM)

      Complete the following fields with your site's information:
      • SMTP Authentication Required, and the credentials as required
      • Proxy and Port Number
      • Email Server
      • Sender’s Email
  6. Complete the DeltaV System Registration utility by saving the data to a file (to the location specified in the utility).
