DeltaV systems contain user accounts that are built-in, that is, are created when the DeltaV software is installed. These accounts are further classified as service accounts, application accounts, and interactive user accounts based on their purpose.
To minimize security risks, the DeltaV installation disables the accounts that are not necessary for DeltaV out-of-the-box functionality.
To manage accounts, the currently logged on Windows user must be both a Windows administrator (that is, a member of the Windows Administrators group) and a DeltaV administrator (that is, a member of the DeltaV Admins group). When in a domain, you must be a domain administrator to manage the domain user accounts.
Change passwords for DeltaV built-in Windows application accounts
If you change the password and the account is used on any other computers (DeltaV or non-DeltaV), you must change the account's password to be the same on all computers where the account exists and is connecting to this DeltaV computer.
If you change the password and the account is used as a service's Log On As account, you must manually change the password for that service and stop and restart the service (or reboot the computer).
Deleting an account deletes the operating system (Windows) account. Delete the DeltaV database user account in DeltaV User Manager ().
