Select a controller upgrade file for the upgrade process

A controller upgrade file (filename.udf) is used to perform the upgrade process. This file contains information such as which components to upgrade, a description of the components, and the upgrade revision number. You need to know the name and location of this file in the system before starting the upgrade.

To select a controller upgrade file

  1. Select controllers from the drop-down list in the opening window of the DeltaV Controller and I/O Upgrade Utility and click the Next button.
  2. By default, upgrade files are located in the Upgrade File Path specified in the Upgrade filename field. Click the Next button to select the file in the default folder or click the Browse button to browse to the folder containing the upgrade file.
  3. Click the Next button. You will receive the following message: "The Upgrade Media is Being Opened, Please Wait."
  4. Click the Next button to select the controller to upgrade.
