Select an I/O module upgrade file for the upgrade process

An I/O module upgrade file (filename.idf) is used to perform the upgrade process. This file contains information such as which components to upgrade, a description of the components, and the upgrade revision number. You need to know the name and location of this file in the system before starting the upgrade.

To select an I/O module upgrade file

  1. Select I/O Modules from the drop-down list in the opening window of the DeltaV Controller and I/O Upgrade Utility and click the Next button.
  2. Enter the full path to the upgrade file in the Upgrade Filename box or click the Browse button to open the Select an Upgrade File dialog, select the I/O module upgrade file, (filename.idf) and click Open.
  3. Click the Next button after you have entered the upgrade filename and select the controller that you wish to upgrade.
  4. Click the Next button and select the I/O modules to upgrade.
