Alarm Mosaic is a timeline based display that provides operators with a different way to monitor alarms so as to more easily identify problems in the running process control system and take corrective actions. Alarms are depicted as icons and presented both graphically and in list form. They can be viewed in their current state (updating view) or by their activation history (Activation History view). The alarm actions supported in both views are similar to those supported in the classic DeltaV Operate Alarm List.
The updating view shows the current state of up to 500 active alarms in real time. This view presents data from the DeltaV Operator Workstation alarm server, which is the same data server used for the DeltaV Operate Alarm Banner and the Alarm Summary ActiveX control.
The Activation History view is a static view of historical alarms and their corresponding events. It shows up to 1000 alarm icons for the time span presented and according to when the alarms became active. Events are retrieved from the Event Chronicle server. Use the Activation History button on the toolbar to toggle back and forth between views.
Alarm Mosaic retrieves data from the DeltaV Operator Workstation alarm server, therefore presenting data for the area assignments of the current operator and workstation. When a change is made to the area assignments of that operator or workstation, restart Alarm Mosaic or toggle between views to apply the changes.
