Binding equipment with equipment trains and dynamic unit allocation
The following information for binding equipment pertains to equipment that is part of an equipment train. You cannot rebind a unit that has a selection mode of From_Policy. Rebinding can only occur when the selection mode is DEFER. Unit selection policies may also be in use for the dynamic allocation of units. This information is in addition to the general conditions discussed above.

There are two variations of SELECTED state for a unit alias with a From_Policy selection mode.
Selected, Not Assigned - While the step (with the From_Policy selection mode) is acquiring the equipment, the unit alias state is set to SELECTED even though a unit is not yet assigned to the unit alias.
Selected, Assigned - If the Batch Executive option, Allow change to the acquired unit for a step, is selected, then the unit alias selection state goes from COMMITTED to SELECTED when the step (with the From_Policy selection mode) completes (that is, when the unit is released).
When a unit alias has the selection state of SELECTING, you cannot performing an Active Step Change. Therefore, the following tables show SELECTING as Not Applicable.
