Configuring security for the API

Almost all actions in DeltaV software require the user to have privileges to perform that action. For a user to release, start or remove a batch, the Batch Executive verifies the user has the correct security keys to manipulate a batch. For a user to configure, edit or lock a campaign, the Campaign Manager server verifies the user has the proper security keys. For information on configuring security rights in DeltaV software, refer to the DeltaV User Manager online help.

Several methods that create, edit or manipulate campaign or batches on the DVBCMClient, have optional parameters called ConfirmerName, ConfirmerPassword, VerifierName and VerifierPassword. These parameters are used to verify that the user of the API has the correct security keys to perform the commands requested by the API.
