Set the graph time scale

The time scale has the following options: Time Start, Time End, and Span. Editing any two options causes the third option to update automatically. For example, if you edit the start time and span, the end time updates automatically; if you edit the end time and span, the start time updates automatically.

You can display the time format for the graph in absolute time, and use keywords. Absolute time is formatted according to regional settings. Examples of December 5, 1997 8 PM in absolute time are:

The keyword today means today's date at midnight and the keyword yesterday means yesterday's date at midnight. You can also use a format such as Tuesday+14h to mean 2 PM of the most recent Tuesday.

Note

You can also set a start time for a selected trend and shift the time for a selected trend.

To set the graph time scale

  1. Right-click in the graph area, and then select Configure Chart to open the Configure Chart dialog.
  2. Click the Time Scale tab.
  3. Enter the time scale and click OK.
Note

Changing the time scale for a trend that is rapidly plotting values can change the shape of the trend line. The time scale plots a fixed number of values per hour and individual details of trend values are smoothed when the timescale is greater than the sampling rate of the values.
