SPI: Retrieving multiple XML files

If you have multiple XML files you need to retrieve and work with in Excel, you must work on one file at a time. This is a limitation of Excel and add-ins. To work with multiple XML files, follow these steps:

  1. Start Excel.
  2. Retrieve from SPI.
  3. Work on data.
  4. Open Data Manager. 

    If Data Manager is already open, close and reopen it to refresh the Excel column of the Controllers list.

  5. Save your work to the DeltaV database from the Data Manager.
  6. If you need to work on additional xml files retrieved from SPI to work on, close Excel and begin again at step 1.
