This document cannot explain every possible situation in which a virtual SIS CSLS system can be created and then downloaded to a production system. However, there are three main scenarios in which virtual SIS CSLS systems can be used to configure and check out logic for safety systems, after which the configuration can be imported and downloaded to the production DeltaV safety system.
Before you export the virtual system configuration you must:
Any virtual hardware that you fail to decommission and unassign appears with red Xs in DeltaV Explorer (to indicate they are not communicating) after being imported into the production system. You cannot correct this but must re-export and import again.
The scenarios do not show every step but are an overview of the tasks required.
