Download a CHARMs Smart Logic Solver

  1. Navigate to a CHARMs Smart Logic Solver in the Local Safety Network under a SIS Controller.
  2. Right-click and select DownloadCHARMs Logic Solver. If parameter values have changed since the last download, an Upload dialog appears listing the changes.
    Note

If you do not have the key for the SIS_UPLOAD_CONFIG function, click Cancel on the Upload dialog to continue with the download. Otherwise, you can select the changes to be uploaded, if there are any, and click OK.

  3. If you have the key for the SIS_UPLOAD_CONFIG function (by default, SIS Can Configure), select the parameter values you want to upload to the database and click OK.
    The Upload complete dialog appears.
  4. Click Close on the Upload complete dialog.
    The Confirm Download dialog appears.
  5. Click Yes on the Confirm Download dialog.
If the Logic Solver is locked, the Logic Solver Locked Dialog appears.
  6. Click Unlock and Continue to proceed.
The Exploring DeltaV dialog appears prompting you to confirm this unlock.
  7. Click Confirm to continue.
If the physical keylock is enabled and it is not in the unlocked position an error message appears.
    Note

The Logic Solver remains unlocked after the download.

The Downloading Selected Objects dialog appears, and the system performs pre-downloaded configuration checks. If errors are found, the Configuration Check Results dialog that appears informs you that the download cannot continue.

At this point you can cancel the download, correct the problems found, and then re-download.

The download proceeds to the Verifying Configuration phase. If verification errors are found, the download is not allowed to continue.

If no verification errors are found, the download proceeds through the Generating and Downloading phases and the Download complete dialog appears.

    Note

If the configuration has changed since the last download, the Download dialog includes a message that a functional test may be required. For more information on using CRCs (cyclic redundancy checks) to determine if a functional test is required, refer to the DeltaV SIS Safety Manual.

  8. Click Close.
