Enable CHARMs Smart Logic Solvers

If you did not enable DeltaV SIS CHARMs Smart Logic Solvers when you installed DeltaV software, enable it now.

  1. Click Start → DeltaV Engineering → System Preferences.
  2. Select the Enable CHARMs Logic Solvers check box. 
  3. Click OK.
    A message appears saying that you must restart the DeltaV Database Server for the changes to take effect.

Enabling CHARMs Smart Logic Solvers changes the DeltaV interface, particularly DeltaV Explorer and Control Studio. In DeltaV Explorer the changes include the addition of CHARMs Smart Logic Solver-related Library objects, and Setup additions in SIS Security, SIS Named Sets, and SIS Alarm Types. In Control Studio the changes include the ability to configure SIS modules, templates, and composite blocks.
