Create a database

  1. Select Start → DeltaV Engineering → Database Administration.
  2. Double-click the Create Database icon.
  3. Type the name you want for the new database in the New Database Name field and click the Next button.
  4. In the Source box, select one of the two source options, either Create New or From a Backup, and click Next.
  5. Choose whether or not to preserve the Network Definition and, if it is preserved, whether to use the current active database or an existing export file. If you choose an export file, either type its name in the blank or use Browse to locate it.
    Note

    If Preserve Network Definition is selected, the network configuration, including workstations, controllers, I/O cards, and logic solvers is copied to the new database. Module assignments and area and recipe assignments are also copied. Modules (except assigned SIS modules) are not copied.

    Note

    If Preserve Network Definition is not selected, an empty database is created and you must run workstation configuration to define the ProfessionalPLUS workstation and then configure other items in your network.

  6. Click Finish.
  7. Click Yes if the name and path are correct.
