Set up SIS module authorization

  1. Enable Version Control for DeltaV SIS objects.
  2. Select the SIS Modules must be authorized before downloading checkbox.
  3. Click the Signers button to add at least one signer (for example managers or supervisors) for each of SIL1, SIL2, and SIL3.
When you add a new signer VCAT automatically unauthorizes all previously authorized modules until the new signer approves them. When you delete a signer VCAT automatically authorizes all modules that have approvals from all other remaining signers.
  4. Click OK on the Version Control Configuration dialog. Version Control is enabled (if not already enabled), and SIS Module authorization is enabled. The DeltaV system creates a Version Control database (if it does not already exist) and populates it with SIS modules in your current configuration database.
  5. If VCAT was already running, this procedure adds SIS Module Authorization functionality to the SQL database.

The process of enabling Version Control can take a significant amount of time.
