Displays overview

Displays present process information to operators in DeltaV Live and provide a means for operators to take typical actions affecting that part of the process, such as responding to alarms. Displays can be either hierarchical (included in a display set) or non-hierarchal (not included in a display set). If included in a display set, operators can use displays to easily view related content and maintain situational awareness over some part of the process, through the display set's navigation hierarchy. See the topics on display sets and automatic display coordination for more information.

In DeltaV Live, displays open either in a designated display frame or as a new window. Where in a layout each display opens is determined by display frame configuration and whether a display is hierarchical or non-hierarchical.

Displays are created, configured, and managed in Graphics Studio, then published and assigned for use on DeltaV Live-enabled Operator Stations and remote client sessions. You can create a display from either a blank canvas or a library template. Displays are built using graphic elements such as shapes and GEMs. Use the Graphics Configuration pane to configure a display's size, appearance, and events.
