Configuring DeltaV Live for multi-language support
When configuring multi-language support, you can select both a system default language and a fallback language.
The system default language, when active, is used as the display configuration language in Graphics Studio and DeltaV Live, if no other language preference is provided. If no system default language is selected, then English is used as the default language, provided it is selected as active. If English is not active in the database, then DeltaV Live uses a different active language.
The fallback language is the language used for a string that has not been configured for the current display configuration language. If no fallback language is provided, then any string that has not been configured for the current display configuration language appears as an empty string.
The following example demonstrates how the fallback language is used:
If Simplified Chinese is selected as the current content language and Traditional Chinese as the fallback language, then when a string does not have a Simplified Chinese translation, it is presented in Traditional Chinese. However, if no fallback language is selected, then any string that has not been configured for Simplified Chinese is presented as an empty string.
