The
CHARM Bus Statistics dialog shows counter values for
all of the bus statistics for the selected LS CHARM since the last time the
CHARMs Smart Logic Solver (CSLS) was reset.
If power to the CSLS is interrupted, all counter values on the
CHARM Bus Statistics dialog restart from zero after
power is restored and the CSLS comes out of the reset state. In the event of a
switchover to the standby CSLS of a redundant pair, all counter values on the
CHARM Bus Statistics dialog restart from zero.
The
CHARM Bus Statistics dialog for a selected LS CHARM
contains the following values:
- Acyc Invalid Response
- The number of acyclic responses with errors received by the selected CHARM.
Possible errors include: a bad CRC (cyclic redundancy check), an invalid
length, or any CHARM error status. The following conditions can cause an
acyclic response with errors:
- The CHARM failed to
recognize an acyclic request.
- An internal fault
occurred in the CHARM.
- Acyc No Response -
The number of acyclic responses from the selected CHARM that timed out. A time
out usually indicates that the CHARM was not communicating.
- Acyc Request - The
number of acyclic requests sent to the selected CHARM. Acyclic requests include
all message types except outputs and Cyclic Scan Update responses.
- Acyc Responses - The
number of acyclic responses, including both successful and failed responses,
received from the selected CHARM.
- Acyc Valid Response -
The number of successful acyclic responses received from selected CHARM.
- Charm Comms - The
number of times CHARM communications transitioned from not communicating to
communicating.
- Charm Failed Send -
The number of times that an output or acyclic request to the selected CHARM
failed to be successfully built and sent from the CIOC. Typically, a request
only fails because of a CIOC software problem, usually indicating a loss of
buffers.
- Charm No Comms - The
number of times CHARM communications transitioned from communicating to not
communicating.
- Charm Retries - The
number of times that an output or acyclic request to the selected CHARM was
retried before a successful response was received. Typically, a request is
retried only when the request or response is corrupted by noise on the
communications bus.
- Cyc Updates - The
number of successful Cyclic Scan Update responses from the selected CHARM.
- Cyc Updates Failed -
The number of unsuccessful Cyclic Scan Update responses from the selected
CHARM. The following conditions may trigger an unsuccessful Cyclic Scan Update
response:
- No physical CHARM is
installed in this configured slot.
- The CHARM installed in
this slot is not communicating.
- The CHARM installed in
this slot does not match the configured CHARM type.
- Outputs Failed - The
number of outputs that failed to be successfully written to the selected CHARM.
The following conditions can trigger a write failure:
- The CHARM is not
communicating.
- The physical CHARM type
does not support outputs.
- An internal fault
occurred in the CHARM.
- Outputs Success - The
number of outputs successfully written to the selected CHARM.
- Outputs Written - The
number of outputs written to the selected CHARM.
