When the Diagnostics program opens, devices (fieldbus, Profibus, or AS-Interface) do not appear under the port until you autosense the devices.
The cards must be configured and the ports enabled to autosense devices. The yellow LEDs on the card indicate communication with devices.
To autosense devices
Select the port under the card. New devices are added to the hierarchy while the port is selected.
When Details View is selected, new devices are also added to the Contents View and device state and address changes are logged in Integrity History.
If a fieldbus device is deleted or if a device
previously in a non-commissioned state is not responding, the Diagnostics
program overlays the
on the device and labels
it RescanThisPort XXXX (where XXXX is the Physical Device Tag of the device).
Rescanning the port updates the list of devices under that port.
To rescan a port
Right-click the port, and then select Rescan Port to update the hierarchy for the port.
The Diagnostics program automatically adds devices to the hierarchy as it detects them but, (to draw attention to potential problems), does not automatically remove deleted devices from the hierarchy. Use the Rescan Node command to manually remove deleted devices from the hierarchy.
