Autosense HART devices

When the Diagnostics application first opens, HART devices do not automatically appear under the HART channel. You must first autosense the HART devices before they appear under the channel.

Note

You can autosense HART devices connected to DeltaV I/O cards. You cannot autosense HART devices connected to RS3 or PROVOX cards.

To autosense HART devices

  1. Select the HART channel to which the HART device is connected.
    Important

    Be sure to autosense only HART devices. Attempting to autosense non-HART devices could potentially disrupt the process.

  2. Right-click, and then select Auto-Sense devices.
  3. The HART device appears in the hierarchy.
  4. To view communication statistics on a HART device, select the HART channel or HART device, and then click Display HART Statistics.
