To make a HART device issue a visible or audible signal that allows you to locate the device in the field, open the Squawk HART Device dialog by right-clicking the device in the hierarchy, and then clicking Squawk Device… on the context menu. In DeltaV Explorer, you can also open this dialog by selecting the device in the hierarchy, and then clicking Squawk Device… on the Object menu.
In the Squawk HART Device dialog, click Squawk. The way a device signals its location can be either audible or visible, depending on its design. Refer to the device documentation for information about how it implements a Squawk command.
The Squawk command is not supported in devices implementing the HART Protocol prior to revision 7.
