Add an internal module-level parameter

Internal module-level parameters do not appear as icons within the module.

With nothing in the Diagram View selected, move the cursor to the Parameter View.
Right-click, and then click Add. The Parameter Properties dialog appears.
Type the name of the parameter you are adding in the Parameter Name field.
Select the Type of parameter and enter a default value, if applicable.
Click the Filter button, and then check the parameter groups that you want this parameter to be in. Click OK twice.

If you want to use this parameter in other applications or on a display, you will need to add this parameter to the Parameter Security section in the DeltaV Explorer. Parameter Security involves defining the lock (locks are made up of, among other things, parameters) and then using User Manager to assign the keys (that is, grant access) to the user for the locks. Keys are assigned by individual user or by group of users. A user must have the key to access the locked item.
