On the initial opening of a picture, the picture displays @@@@ symbols and magenta-colored backgrounds (if configured) while the workstation locates the modules, creates access tokens for the attributes, and binds the attributes for On Change Notification. The time that DeltaV Operate displays the @@@@ symbols and magenta backgrounds is affected by several things including controller, workstation, and network loading, the number of datalinks on the picture, and the refresh rate of the datalinks. It usually takes less than 3 seconds when the refresh rate is 1 second, but in most cases it is less.
If the picture is closed and reopened before the On Change Notification Keep Time expires (2 1/2 minutes), the @@@@ symbols and magenta backgrounds are not displayed.
If the picture is reopened after the On Change Notification Keep Time expires, the @@@@ symbols and magenta backgrounds are displayed while the workstation binds the attributes for On Change Notification. The magenta backgrounds are not displayed when the picture is in the picture cache.
If the picture is reopened after the Attribute/Value Keep Time expires (15 minutes), the @@@@ symbols and magenta backgrounds are displayed while the workstation creates access tokens for the attributes and binds the attributes for On Change Notification. The magenta backgrounds are not displayed when the picture is in the picture cache.
If the picture is reopened after the Module Keep Time expires (30 minutes), the @@@@ symbols and magenta backgrounds are displayed while the workstation locates the modules, creates access tokens for the attributes, and binds the attributes for On Change Notification. The magenta backgrounds will not be displayed when the picture is in the picture cache.
