Collect parameter history data

The DeltaV subsystem collects historical data on parameter fields to which you add collection. You can add history collection to module and node parameter fields.

  1. Navigate to the module or node. (For modules, the path is System Configuration/Control Strategies/area; for nodes, the path is System Configuration/Physical Network/Control Network/node.)
  2. Right-click the node or module.
  3. Click History Collection. The History Collection dialog appears for the module or node.
  4. Click the Add button and then click Browse to add a parameter. Use the online help for further information.
    Note:
When adding history collection to a module, you do not have to select the module initially. You can select the area, right-click, select History Collection, and then browse to the module parameter.
    Note:
To add a floating point array item to history collection, enter the parameter path as:

    Module/ArrayParameterName[row,col].field

When history collection is assigned to the DeltaV Continuous Historian, it is downloaded as Module/ArrayParameterName[row][col].field. When history collection is assigned to the Advanced Continuous Historian or OSIsoft PI Server, it is downloaded as Module/ArrayParameterName(row)(col).field because brackets are not supported by these historians. These syntax distinctions are important when configuring a Process History View trend. To plot a trend for an array item in the DeltaV Continuous Historian, use ArrayParameterName[row][col].field; for the Advanced Continuous Historian or PI Server, use ArrayParameterName(row)(col).
