Create alarms for serial data

The Monitor Data wizard creates a module containing alarms for each register in a specific serial dataset. To use the wizard:

  1. Navigate to the area in which you want the module to reside (System Configuration/Control Strategies/area).
  2. Right-click the area.
  3. Click Monitor Data Wizard.
  4. Type a new module name.
  5. Click Add dataset and browse for the dataset.
  6. Double-click a register to define the alarms.
  7. When all alarms are defined, click OK to save the module.
    Note:
    To edit the alarms further, open the module in Control Studio. The Monitor Data wizard does not support module editing.
    Tip:
    You can also launch the wizard by dragging the dataset to the area.
