Apply HART device configuration from a Device Definition or Template

If you apply configuration from a device definition, the system provides the appropriate faceplate (SIS or non-SIS, depending on the device). If you apply configuration from a device template, the system provides the faceplate specified in the template regardless of the device you are working with.

  1. Navigate to the device (System Configuration/Physical Network/Control Network/controller node/I/O/card/channel).
  2. Right-click the device.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Click Copy Library Data
  5. Select the Object Type (Device Template or HART Device Definition).
  6. Select the device and revision from which you want to copy the configuration and click OK to exit the Browse dialog.
    Note:
    If you apply configuration from a device definition, the system provides the appropriate faceplate (SIS or non-SIS, depending on the device). If you apply configuration from a device template, the system provides the faceplate specified in the template regardless of whether the device is used in an SIS application.
  7. Click OK
